East Angus

East Angus... a welcoming, green, and diverse community with a visibly rich history. The city's earliest built neighbourhoods reflect its industrial past, whereas newer sectors show a sustained effort at revitalization. The winter carnival, the Concerts de la Gare every Thursday during the summer, the Forêt Hantée de Freddy Angus in the Parc des Deux Rivières, and the Fête nationale and Christmas celebrations demonstrate the city's vitality and enriching living environment. Featuring 2,500 varieties of perennials, the Jardins Vivaces de Fernand are worth a stop. Why not plan a picnic here? The Parc Municipal des Deux Rivières with several trails and an outdoor adventure trail, the nearby Vallée Heureuse du Mont Élan, and the Sentiers de l'Estrie are perfect places for a hike or a stroll. A little to the west, in the municipality of Ascot Corner, a visit to the Ferme au Pré Bleu to pick berries and a stop at the Fromagerie DuMatin for fresh cheddar cheese curds are a great way to top off an excursion to the Haut-Saint-François region.
