Marécage Loop

Like gruelling climbs and pedalling away from the crowds? Let’s go! Starting from Parc National du Mont-Mégantic, ride some 50 kilometres through forest farms and vast maple groves. Keep in mind that at times, you’ll be far from services and cellular networks so be prepared to go off the grid.

Km 12

Val-Racine

Enjoy a break at this tiny village… or go for a long-distance hike? Val-Racine is the starting point for the 125 km Mini Compostelle de Mégantic.


Km 27

Milan

As you arrive via the 214, you’ll ride into a quaint village. There’s a church, a railroad, and, most notably, a museum dedicated to Donald Morrison, a Canadian outlaw turned folk hero of the 19th century.

Km 44

Walter-Mackenzie Municipal Park

Grab a picnic table and soak in the soothing sight and sound of Rivière au Saumon. You’d be wise to stop at Charcuterie Scotstown, just a few steps away, to stock your picnic basket with a smorgasbord of local treats.


Km 45

Parc régional du Marécage-des-Scots

As a special treat before finishing the loop, this park’s bike path leads you straight into the forest. Take down the pace and immerse yourself in this protected ecosystem that’s home to a unique array of flora and fauna.
