The Perfect Ski Day at Owl’s Head

Updated on Oct 22, 2024

The fifth-highest skiable peak in Québec, Owl’s Head is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, with its panoramic views overlooking Lake Memphremagog and the Green Mountains. Here, your skiing experience promises to be a truly spectacular one! Follow the guide to find out how to enjoy a memorable day at the resort.

On Your Way to the Mountain

A perfect day’s skiing at Owl’s Head starts well before you arrive at the resort! Whether you take Chemin Vale Perkins or Chemin du Lac to get here, you’re sure to be awed by the surrounding landscapes. On the horizon, the majestic mountain will gradually appear, along with your growing feeling of serenity.

Let the Day Begin!

When you arrive at the mountain, you can go to one of the ticket terminals to pick up your day ticket. L’Est Go card holders can go directly to the chairlifts.

Take the detachable Sommet chairlift up to the top of the mountain. To warm up your leg muscles, for your first descent, choose the Lilly’s Leap trail, an easy run with superb views. The short waiting time at the chairlifts will allow you to enjoy as many descents as you like. From well-groomed slopes to snowy glades, you’ll find plenty of trails to choose from!

Lunch!

It’s lunchtime! Discover the culinary diversity offered at the resort’s cafeteria, where you’ll discover a wide range of healthy dishes, fast food, and a ready-to-eat counter. You can also try the daily special, a comforting choice that’s sure to please!

Back on the Slopes

For the afternoon, take the Sommet chairlift again, choose a slope to the left of the lift and head down the hill towards the Panorama or Lac chairlifts. This is a truly long descent! Then, spend the next few hours exploring this section of the mountain. The trails are easier here, perfect for those who are starting to feel the effort they’ve been demanding from their legs.

For Your Après-Ski

The day is drawing to an end... Head to the restaurant bar MTN Haus and immerse yourself in the welcoming ambiance you’ll find here. With two magnificent fireplaces, it’s the perfect place to sip one of their signature cocktails. Plus, every Wednesday and Saturday, musical performances by different artists in a variety of styles will add to your après-ski experience. Complete your après-ski moment by reserving a table in the bistro, where you’ll discover a comforting cuisine featuring amazing terroir flavours.

Spend the Night

Why not prolong your stay? The boutique hotel, located on the top floor of the main chalet, offers 10 suites able to accommodate up to 6 guests each. A beautiful view of the slopes, comfortable rooms with all the amenities and quick access to the slopes the next day (ski-in, ski-out), that’s what you can expect here.

Did You Know?

  • A recent satisfaction survey carried out by the consumers’ magazine Protégez-vous ranked Owl’s Head as the second-best ski resort in Québec.

  • Less than a kilometre from the mountain, you’ll find the Jewett General Store, a superb heritage residence built circa 1860. With its Second Empire style, this jewel of Potton’s architectural heritage with its old-world feel offers a warm, authentic ambiance and is well worth a visit!
