Updated on Oct 22, 2024

In the heart of a National Park and at an altitude of 850 metres, everything is possible! From adventures to learning opportunities, from the school slope to the glade trails, from the bottom of the slopes to the three summits, this winter, head out in grand style as you discover Mont-Orford! Follow the guide to take advantage of all the great things this resort has to offer!

In the Morning: Not-to-be-missed Trails to Take On without Moderation!

Instinctively, for your first runs, you’ll want to hit the most popular trails. The resort locals suggest you try the following ones according to your level:

  • For Beginners: the 4 Km Trail A signature run at Mount Orford, the 4 km trail is the longest and most winding trail of the resort. It’s also, without a doubt, the one with the most spectacular views overlooking the region!

  • For Intermediate Level Skiers: the Cascade Trail You’ll find this trail on the Versant Alfred-Desrochers, and many skiers consider it as their favourite run. You’ll enjoy yourself as you ski across several secret passages all the way down the slope while you take advantage of the natural landscapes alongside the trail.

  • For Expert Skiers: the Contour Trail A slope with natural moguls, the Contour trail is the locals’ favourite for its profile with plenty of landing breaks and steep sections. It’s the number one destination for expert skiers on a stormy day!

When snow conditions are right, we also suggest glade skiing enthusiasts head out to the Versant Orford. The Passe de l’ours, the Porc-épic, the Chevreuil, the Écureuil, the Orignal … all trails sure to give you an adrenaline rush!

Lunch Break

It’s a well-known fact that every good skier needs to eat! For a quick snack or a hearty meal, the resort’s restaurants have just what you need. Café le Virage is ideal for a snack; Slalom Pub for taking your time, while the Cafétéria offers a full daily menu at reasonable prices.

Four Slope Sides to Discover

In the afternoon, opt for a few runs down Mount Giroux. On the north side, you’ll find intermediate and easy trails, while on the east side you’ll find several glades (named after local ski athletes) that are well worth a descent or two! Note that the east side is close from tuesday to thursday.

A Festive End of Day

For an après-ski treat, the Slalom Pub is the place to go … and it fills up fast when the slopes close! Relax by the fireplace with a well-deserved microbrewery beer or a hot chocolate drink with extra whipped cream! Of course, children are welcome, accompanied by their parents.

Good to know: Thursday evenings, alpine touring enthusiasts gather here. Therefore the bar stays open until 9:00 p.m.!
