Frontenac

The municipality of Frontenac encircles the town of Lac-Mégantic and is located between Lake Megantic and the State of Maine. The Parc riverain Sachs-Mercier features a boat launch for easy access to the lake. Frontenac is fortunate to also have another large body of water, Lac aux Araignées, where swimming and nautical activities are permitted. A magnificent golf course facing the Hautes-Appalaches observation tower is strategically located where visitors can take in the view. The discovery in 2003 of fluted spear points typical of the late Paleoindian period determined Frontenac to be the first site of human occupation in Quebec, nearly 12 500 years ago.
