Family vacations
Often, our fondest memories are those of our childhood and adolescence, particularly memories of family getaways and vacations. We escape our everyday lives and enter a carefree vacation bubble.
New
This year, in addition to enjoying Bromont, montagne d’expériences’s waterslides, your family members will have the time of their lives sliding down the three new Amazon-themed waterslides in the Amazoo Water Park. From the top of a tower that is nearly 15 m high, you can slide through summer on double tubes… before or after meeting Granby Zoo’s new residents. The Museum of Ingenuity J. Armand Bombardier has undergone a real facelift. Discover ingenuity by following the journey of this man, who built a worldwide transportation empire.
Magical evenings
Enjoy a magical evening exploring Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook’s Foresta Lumina or stargazing at the Parc national du Mont-Mégantic provincial park’s giant outdoor telescopes or AstroLab.
Farm visits
The Ferme Au Pied Levé farm in Fitch Bay provides the opportunity to breathe in the smell of fresh-cut hay, walk through tall grass, pet animals, taste farm products, sing or laugh around a campfire, and sleep under a duvet. Have you ever seen alpacas? They are fascinating animals with funny-looking heads. We raise them for their wool, which is warmer than wool from sheep and as soft as cashmere. Criadorable in Dudswell, Alpagas Sutton, the Ferme Norli in Bromont,WOW Freli Alpagas and the Domaine des Nobles alpagas in Brome Lake have large alpaca herds in beautiful settings. The Asinerie les ânes en culotte is a family farm that raises donkeys producing milk from which soaps and cosmetics are made. The Ferme Lait sangliers des bois is the first wild boar interpretation centre in Quebec. Among other things, there you can see wild boars that weigh approximately 226 kg (500 lb.).
The most unusual accommodations
Canada’s first Huttopia Village was built in Sutton. Cabins and ready-to-camp tents blend in perfectly with the natural setting in a mixed forest featuring a river ideal for swimming. A spectacular central pavilion next to a large outdoor pool offers food services. Unless the Chalet EXP, a cabin with large windows that will make you feel like you’re in the wilderness, is more appealing? In which case, the Parc national du Mont-Mégantic and Parc national du Mont-Orford provincial parks have got you covered. What would you say to accommodations that highlight aspects of Aboriginal culture? Hébergement aux Cinq Sens has five Mongolian-inspired yurts nestled in the heart of a mixed Forest in Piopolis. You can also spend a night in a Cosy Bubble, a 5-m inflatable cocoon with an opening to view the night sky.
Fishing stories
At Parc Découverte Nature in Baldwin, fly fishing is very popular. A guided tour of the most advanced fish hatchery in North America is a must.
Birds and little critters
Watch wild birds at the Étang Burbank pond, a true paradise for birdwatchers and beaver observers. At the Marais de la Rivière aux Cerises marsh you can discover impressive biodiversity on foot or by kayak; stroll through the Centre d’interprétation du lac Boivin interpretation centre where it’s normal to come across ducks, woodpeckers, chipmunks, and minks.
Leisurely sites
Bring a picnic or pick up some Créateurs de saveurs flavour creators’ products to make one. Then stop next to a waterfall, at the beach, beside one of the many lakes, at a farm, or in a field of lavender, and enjoy the scenery… one bite at a time. Explore the Musée à ciel ouvert ARTRIA open-air museum on the Estriad cycling trail, featuring decorative sculptures that have been installed along the route for you to stop and admire whenever you like.
Cultural outings
The online Eastern Townships cultural program provides information on all of the shows, events, and exhibitions taking place in the region.
