Illuminated decorations, friendly streets and the sweetest aromas: the Holiday Season invites you to immerse yourself in its warm ambiance. From November 16 to January 7, the Sherbrooke region will be covered with its finest seasonal colours and welcomes you as you join in the Holiday festivities with a panoply of magical activities!
Whether simply for a souvenir photo, to whisper their dream present in his ear, or to shyly observe him from afar, youngsters will be delighted to be able to meet Santa Claus in Sherbrooke. This year, Santa will be at the Carrefour de l’Estrie from November 18 onwards. You can follow his itinerary as he makes his way across Sherbrooke to take part in a number of Holiday activities. He should be quite busy this year!
Another not-to-be-missed event: the Sherbrooke Santa Claus Parade! The merry Christmas procession will leave at 3:00 p.m. from École de la Montée, Pavillon Le Ber, and end its route in the downtown area to the sound of music and plenty of fun and laughter. You’ll arrive just in time to see the big tree being lit. With its theme “La Fête au Village” Sherbrooke will be the perfect destination for anyone looking for some Christmas magic. An experience you won’t want to miss!
Take advantage of the Holiday Season to organize some amazing family outings.
Saturdays and Sundays from November 16 to December 21, you’ll discover over 60 exhibitors participating in a local Christmas market at Sherbrooke’s Marché de la Gare. From crafts to homegrown produce, you’re sure to find great ideas to put on your Holiday table as well as some special gifts for your friends and family. For the first time this year, a 20-horse carousel will take you back to your childhood days. In exchange for a donation to Moisson Estrie, climb aboard the merry-go-round for a truly enchanting moment.
Also, from December 7 to January 7, load the entire family into the car for a mini road trip to discover the city’s most beautiful illuminated homes! Open the Balade scintillante interactive map, choose a route, or create your own, then select your Christmas music playlist and drive through Sherbrooke’s different neighbourhoods to admire all the spectacular outdoor decorations. Indeed, a very magical outing
Take your investigation to Sherbrooke’s CentrÔville where mischievous elves have hidden themselves in the city’s boutiques and iconic landmarks. They’ve left a trail of letters in their wake to help you solve the big mystery word puzzle and stand a chance of winning one of many prizes. To start you out on your quest, you can consult the website for all the details. Detectives, on your marks! Along the way, take some time to discover or rediscover Sherbrooke’s downtown boutiques. You might just find a few more gift ideas!
Another suggestion to add to your calendar: the Sherbus de Noël! Climb aboard a beautifully decorated bus for a guided tour. On Saturdays, November 30, December 7, 14 and 21, discover all the secrets Sherbrooke holds in store for you. The bus will make special stops at the Marché de la Gare and the Marché de Lennoxville to give you plenty of time to do your Holiday shopping.
Happy Holidays!
