Electric bikes are the perfect way to explore the rolling hills and countryside of our beautiful Townships. Take a look at some of the boutiques where you can rent one!
By Marie-Claude Masse
Magog’s friendly Vie de plein air boutique, ideally located at the crossroads of a bike path and the Rivière aux Cerises, rents out a range of sports equipment to suit all tastes. Electric bike enthusiasts, meanwhile, can turn to a sleek A2B bike and, why not, explore the popular 33 km Magog-Orford loop with ease. Fun guaranteed!
Here, we know all about electric bikes, and we’ve got a range of models for you to choose from! Starting with the sturdy RadRover fat bike to the cute yet powerful RadMini, you’ll easily find the type of bike perfectly suited to your needs. From VéloTric, head out on the Chameleon Mystic circuit, a route mainly made up of gravel roads that will have you discover some exceptional viewpoints of the Coaticook Valley region.
Waterloo, located at the crossroads of several cycling routes, has received a VÉLOSYMPATHIQUE (Bicycle Friendly) certification from Vélo Québec. It’s definitely the ideal town to start exploring everything this great region has to offer on two wheels! Head to Tandem vélos branchés and rent an urban-style electric bike and take on the 56 km Artria Cultural Loop, a genuine open-air museum where you’ll discover many giant works of art! Combining sport and culture, what a brilliant concept!
The Vélo-Gare Bike shop is only a few feet away from the Estriade bike path network, a beautiful 22 km circuit that families love for its flat and safe layout. This popular bike shop offers electric bike rentals ... for the season! Unfortunately, they’re fully booked this year, but you can still rent by the hour or half-day.
Are you ready to discover the charming villages and rolling hills surrounding Sainte-Catherine-de-Hatley on an electric bike? Then head straight to Vélo Fusion and rent one of their electric bikes at a really affordable rate. You’ll find a number of routes suggestions on their website, but for a 52 km outing along the Magog, Massawippi and Saint-François rivers, the Circuit des Grandes-Fourches is a must.
In the Mégantic area, the popular Station Touristique Baie-des-Sables tourist resort offers a fleet of electric bikes rentals for your entire family. Would you dare to tackle the Grand Tour du lac Mégantic, a 56 km loop where you’ll find several stops with magnificent views overlooking the region? Despite its name, you don’t need to be a pro to try it out, and even less so on an electric bike!
Great news! This boutique specializes in the sale of high-end electric bicycles and scooters and also offers a rental service for their classy featured vehicles! When you choose E-Mobilité Café in Sutton, you’ll be able to take advantage of two services rather than one! Indeed, here they offer a guided tour during which you’ll be treated to the region’s picturesque landscapes, vineyards and microbreweries. Otherwise, you may want to head out on the Traverse des Townships, the Townships Crossing route, linking Sutton and Town of Lake Brome. A true delight for your eyes and nothing but pleasure for your leg muscles!
Did you know that mountain bikes have gone electric? That’s right! In fact, at Mount Sutton you can reserve an electric bike for half a day and head out on an adventure on the mountain’s 44 km of cross-country and enduro trails. Here, you’re sure to find something for everyone, from beginners to experts.
