Each of our cities and towns has something unique to offer. Whether it’s a venue, a product, a landscape, an attraction or an event, you’ll always have at least 5 good reasons to visit... Bromont!

By Carolyne Parent

Founded in 1964, the town of Bromont is quite a dapper “young soul”! Its residential, industrial (high technology), and recreational tourism zones coexist harmoniously inside a truly idyllic landscape. This outstanding four-season destination bustles with activity during the winter months, when skiers and snowboarders of all levels come to enjoy the seven sides of the mountain; by the way, did you know that it’s the largest illuminated skiable domain in North America? However, this “montagne d’expériences” is far from being the only attraction to be found here...

Explore the Vieux-Bromont

Oh, the amazing ambiance you’ll discover in this sector of town, which has retained all the character of its loyalist past! The stylish ancestral buildings house inviting cafés, great restaurants and even a chocolate museum. Does this pique your curiosity? Then head out on a Balado DiscoveryTour (offered in French). This 12-stops walking tour will have you learn more about the town’s built heritage while revealing some of the secrets of many of its colourful olden day residents.

Tap Your Feet at the Centre Culturel St-John

A true jewel set in the heart of Vieux-Bromont, the Centre Culturel St-John, established in the town’s former eponymous Anglican church, has undergone quite a makeover during the pandemic! Indeed, the artistic venue has modernized its equipment while significantly increasing its seating capacity. Therefore, it’s ready to welcome you in a big way for conferences, musical aperitifs, movie nights and performances by renowned singers. In itself, the venue is worth a visit. By the way, the church was visited by Queen Elizabeth II and her sons in the summer of 1976, during the Olympic equestrian events. It was desacralized in 1994.

To encourage hop enthusiasts, to enjoy a local lager or an IPA, to have a bite to eat, to get together with friends after an outdoor activity: any reason is good to head to either Edgar Hyperlodge, or Le Brouemont, two artisanal microbreweries that have become the pride of the city.

Fill up on Fresh Air at the Parc des Sommets

Let’s go! Where? To the Parc des Sommets where the trails are waiting for you! Our favourite? The Grillon, which you’ll find by exploring the Lake Gale network. This easy trail will take up to “OMG!” The most breathtaking view overlooking the surrounding region. And, to extend your fun, you could spend the night by the trailheads, at the Beatnik. “The Beatnik defines itself as a combination chalet and hotel accommodation,” explains its manager, Nicolas Cavelier. “People come here looking for a peaceful environment, and to be in close contact with nature.” Truly, you couldn’t make a better choice!

Bask in Beauty

Neighbouring the Beatnik hotel, Balnea Spa is certainly one of the most beautiful Nordic spa establishments in Québec, and this for several reasons. First, its location, nestled in the heart of the Domaine naturel du Lac Gale. Then, there are the multiple outdoor pools, set in a serene environment, as well as the many relaxation areas, including a charming Moroccan lounge. Finally, there’s the fine, equally healthy gourmet cuisine of its restaurant Lumami. You’ll also appreciate the fact that its vast expansion program, presently underway, is intended to be ecoresponsible. This includes the creation of an organic micro-farm and a winter greenhouse. These will supply fresh products to the current restaurant and the one that the spa is planning to open in the near future. To be continued!
