In autumn—September and October—snow geese, Canada geese, mallard ducks, and other migrating species gather and head down towards warmer climates. And, as they fly overhead, they offer us quite a performance! The Étang-Burbank, in Danville, is a well-known venue for this type of show! However, there are plenty of other places where you can observe our feathered friends!
In the Eastern Townships, autumn has much more to offer than exceptional landscapes and vibrant colours. Above all, it’s a season you must experience to the rhythm of the region’s many outdoor events. That’s why our four mountain resorts are taking the lead with their autumn festivals, to be held this year between September 13 and October 14, 2024. Mont-Orford, Mont Sutton, Bromont and Owl’s Head. In fact, you may already know them all, but when their slopes take on their most beautiful colours, it’s truly time to head out for a visit! Family entertainment, amazing activities, music, gondola rides ... and, of course, hiking are all on the program. A great way to celebrate the arrival of the autumn colours in the Townships.
There are as many trails meandering everywhere across the Townships as there are treasures to discover. Come for a walk and be amazed by what you’ll discover all around you! To pick your plums, raspberries and gourds … now isn’t this the most delicious pretext for spending some time in our region? We can confirm that, until mid-October, the area farms will once again be offering you the sweet fruits of their labour! And we’re so happy to take advantage of their proposals!
About twenty cycling circuits in every corner of the region; many of them accessible for those in your family with shorter legs, and eight mountain biking centres ready to offer you a great … and toning … adrenalin rush! Simply put, cycling in autumn is way too much fun!
