Yellows, reds, oranges... The Eastern Townships landscapes seem to burst into flames throughout the autumn. Only an hour and a half from Montréal, the Magog-Orford region invites you to join in the celebrations during its Flambée des couleurs event every weekend between September 14 and October 14, 2024, in 5 of the Townships’ prime locations. On-site, sports, outdoors, artistic, gastronomic and family activities will be offered, guaranteeing an amazing time to suit all tastes.

MOUNT ORFORD SKI RESORT

Awe-Inspiring Summit Experiences

During the Flambée des Couleurs, the Mount-Orford ski resort will be offering visitors gondola rides. An ideal way to reach the summit of the mountain (without getting too tired) and admire the views from the mountain’s five observation lookouts. From the top, you’ll have a panoramic view overlooking the entire region! At the foot of the slopes, the resort is bustling with activities, with a terrace featuring live music and a host of family, sports, gastronomic and artistic themes. Feeling hungry? Food trucks and the outdoor bar will be on hand to satisfy your appetite. Beer lovers: head to the La Grande Coulée Festival from September 13 to September 15, 2024.

MOUNT ORFORD SÉPAQ

Enjoy the Great Outdoors

What better way to end the week than by breathing fresh air in the heart of nature? In autumn, the Parc National du Mont-Orford vibrates with its most beautiful colours and offers you a myriad of outdoor activities. Hike over 80 km of trails, cycle over 45 km of trails for mountain and gravel enthusiasts, or simply observe the flora and fauna in their natural habitat... Prolong the experience by reserving a cottage or a ready-to-camp unit. There’s so much you can do in autumn in the Parc National du Mont-Orford!

MARAIS DE LA RIVIÈRE-AUX-CERISES

Where Families Gather

An ideal place for a Sunday stroll, the Marais de la Rivière-aux-Cerises is one of the Eastern Townships’ not-to-be-missed gathering places. The marsh is beautiful throughout the year, but in autumn, with the colours of Mount Orford as a backdrop, the landscape has that little something extra to totally charm you! Keep your eyes wide open on the trails to discover the marsh’s iconic plants and wildlife species. Then, before you leave, drop by the Espace Muséal Desmarais interpretation centre to discover the current exhibitions and workshops.

CANTON D’ORFORD

Treat Yourself to the Flavours of the Season

Add a gastronomic touch to your autumn excursion in the Eastern Townships by heading to Canton d’Orford. In the streets, you’ll find plenty of friendly shopkeepers ready to offer you the culinary break you’re craving! You can also take this opportunity to explore the Vignoble d’Orford and enjoy a fine local beer at the Canton Brasse microbrewery. Want to extend your stay and take full advantage of all the splendour of the colours? A number of lodgings are available: the Estrimont Hotel, the Manoir des Sables, the Chéribourg Hotel and the Espace 4 Saisons. What’s more, the region’s inns, motels and B&Bs will offer you a friendly, personalized welcome. Psst!
