The Sherbrooke area is all abuzz with festivals and overflowing with activities for families, couples and friends. This summer, we’re inviting you to come and enjoy one, or several getaways! Here are five that combine festivals and worthwhile activities.

A Gourmet Getaway with Sherbrooke t’en Bouche un Coin

From June 8 to June 11

Four days to celebrate the finest cuisine and all the culinary skills of the region’s chefs—that’s what Sherbrooke t’en bouche un coin (STEBUC for those in the know) is all about. You’ll have a great time at the Marché de la gare sampling tasty treats concocted by our local restaurateurs and producers.

To help you digest all this, you might want to go for a walk around Lac des Nations. Or, perhaps, you’ll opt for a kayak outing with Sherb-Histoire en kayak, where you’ll paddle on the Magog River and Lac des Nations accompanied by a guide who’ll tell you all about the city’s history. You can also complete your stay in the region with a tour of our microbreweries. At Le Siboire, the Refuge des Brasseurs, Le Boquébière, The Mare au Diable, L’Ancienne Forge and the Lion d’Or Pub, you’ll find plenty of places to toast the moment!

La Fête du Lac des Nations for a Lively Stay!

From July 18 to July 23

If you love when things get moving, head to the Parc Jacques-Cartier for the Fête du Lac des Nations in July. With a very diverse musical program, amusement park rides and fireworks, there’s sure to be plenty of entertainment and action in the air! On stage, you’ll be treated to performances by Sean Kingston, Sarahmée, Bleu Jeans Bleu, Jonathan Roy, DJ Huggies, Shaggy and many more.

To continue your stay in Sherbrooke following the same vibe, we suggest a mountain bike outing at Mont-Bellevue Park. This small mountain in the heart of the city is sure to give even the most seasoned cyclists a good dose of adrenalin! (Psst! There are plenty of trails for beginners too.) Prefer smoother surfaces? Head out for a bike ride on one of the popular Axe de la Massawippi or Axe de la Saint-François bicycle paths.

Taking It Slow with Bouffe ton Centro

August 5

After a few years’ hiatus, Bouffe ton Centro is back in style to continue its mission of bringing gastronomy to the masses. Between two delicious bites, you’ll enjoy strolling along downtown Wellington Street and browsing around in the boutiques.

During your stay, you can also visit the Sherbrooke Murals. There are 18 of them, forming a genuine open-air art gallery. Need to relax? Stop for a while at Sherbrooke’s Strǿm Nordic Spa to reap all the benefits of the thermal experience. You can end your stay with a stroll through the Parc du Bois-Becket or the Marais Réal-D.-Carbonneau, two destinations to savour nature at only a short distance from the city.
